Simple and Delicious Detoxifying Teas

Hydrate, and detoxify by sipping teas throughout your day.

Place all the ingredients (listed below per Dosha)  in a saucepan with:   

4 cups – filtered water (bring the water to a boil for 5 minutes)

Steep for 3 to 5 minutes

* Add the lemon while the tea is steeping, but never boil in water and/or cook lemon.

*Strain into a tea pot or a thermo, and sip it throughout your day.

VATA TEA

1 teaspoon – Fennel seeds

1 teaspoon – Cumin seeds

1/2 teaspoon – Coriander seeds

1/2 teaspoon – fresh grated ginger

1/2 lemon juice (fresh squeezed)

Sweeter – Raw organic sugar (i.e: Sucanat)

 

Pitta Tea

1 teaspoon – Fennel seeds

1 teaspoon – Coriander seeds

1/2 teaspoon – Cumin seeds

10 – fresh mint leaves

1/2 lemon juice (fresh squeezed)

Sweeter – Raw organic sugar (i.e: Sucanat)

 

Kapha Tea

1 teaspoon – Cumin seeds

1/2 teaspoon – Coriander seeds

1 Stick – Cinnamon or Licorice

10 – Fresh basil leaves

Sweeter – 1/2 teaspoon old honey (at least 6 months old)
