Marmani (Ayurvedic Acupressure) Therapy

Marma is based the centuries old Ayurvedic practice of sensing and adjusting your body, mind and spirit through 117 major marmani points, which located throughout your body.  This ancient form of acupressure dates back to between 1500 — 1200 BC and held the idea that massaging marma points would cleanse blocked energy/ Prana, Chi/Qi, Life force, by using finger tips to either stimulate or calm the marma point, and thereby promoting physical, emotional and spiritual balance. As the life force (Prana) flows through the energy points within the entire body, it transmits information, facilitating communications between the deeper internal organs and tissues and the more superficial structures and skin.  Marma treatment can help to calm and settle the mind, leading to increased clarity of perception and more effective communication.

A therapeutic session of marma therapy can be a simple experience of fundamental relaxation, or it can be focused on a specific health issue as part of the Ayurvedic system of healing.

Here are some of the long term benefits of Marmani therapy:

  • Changes in the physical and emotional health
  • Feeling of well-being in emotion, and thinking process
  • Calm and settled mind
  • Increased clarity of perception
  • More effective communication
